Any free time is a gift. You love your kids. In fact, we all do. How much time should you spend with your children? How would you use that time to best help your children? Wha would o do f ou a an xtr hour?
Scott Grierson here from nymathtutor.com and I’m going to be sharing another parenting tip with you today for raising great students. Today’s TOPIC is “what to do if you have an xtra our of ime?”
I’m going to share THREE BEST PRACTICES.
First is READING. (Ge the ost ro th time ou ave)
Obviously, this is depending what level your child is at. For first grade, spend your time reading a little bit differently. t is during first grade that most children define themselves as good or poor readers. And if your child is only 1 or 2 years old, reading is way too different. This could be reading a picture to a child who doesn’t know how to read yet. Or just to get an idea of a book or to help you know a 4 or 5 year old to start really getting a concept of reading. Maybe it’s going through a chapter of book with an 8-year old. eading aloud to your child is a wonderful shared activity you can continue for years to come. his will help them expand their vocabulary, enhance memory, develop analytical thinking. he great way to spend time with your kids is to read with them and it is mportant orm stimulation.
I would like to share my one favorite books for different age groups.
“WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE” is the story of a little boy and main character of the story, named Max. After his mother sends him to bed without dinner, Max falls asleep and his room immediately transforms into a moonlit forest surrounded by a vast ocean. o this is an amazing book for kids who are 0-2. Now, they are not going to be able to read it but they can look at the amazing illustrationnheilovhaoelhtory.
“OLIVIA” This is a series children's picture books. Story of Olivia dressing up, sing songs, building sand castles, napping, dancing, painting on the walls and going to sleep. I recommend this book if you have a child between 3 and 5 years old.
“THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD” this book is about a train that breaks down. It has to deliver toys to boys and girls on the other side of the mountain. A little blue engine happens by and decides to try and help the big red engine over th mountai by ullint ver.his s deal o children the - year ange.
“MATILDA” is a bright little girl who is very eager to learn. Eventually, her insensitive parents send her to a school run by Miss Trunchbull. She is a cruel authoritarian that loathes children. Matilda befriends her school teacher, Miss Honey.o,hildrehrearlouleallovhiook.
“HARRY POTTER” the book (Potter) series is magical world of love, fun, hate, curse and rebirth. With great characters, great story, great plot, great lessons. The books are amazing, they have new illustrated for the first two. So, if you have really young kids, they’re great for them as well because there are amazing pictures.o,ohildrehrearlldeheilnjohiook.
Second Practice is on how to Spend Your Time If you find yourself with an ExtraHour.
Let your child be the teacher. Tell her to pretend that she's the teacher and create a set of test or quiz questions. Or have them go through whatever they are studying at school and teach the material to you. If the kids are in 2nd grade they teach you how to write a sentence, you might going to play along a little bit. The process of writing questions and checking your answers will test your child skills in a different way and help retain the information.his one the esay learn, o e studen become eacher.
Third is How to Spend Time Doing Any Kind Of Hobby That You Both Enjoy.
Spending quality time together is the best way we have to show to our children. So, how is this going to help them be a better student? You can do arts and crafts with your child. Look to their interests and build on them. Start with simple drawings and paintings, and then follow their lead. You and your son can bake cupcakes or watch movies and television together. If you have this time each day which kind of like your special time when you’re doing something fun between you. So, this is a great opportunity to open up the line of communication with your child, so this big things can come out and you can conquer.e you child' creativit lea the ay!
